Scratch was started in 2013 in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands- we make our iconic rustic Cakes, Doughnuts, Scrolls and French Macarons all from scratch - hence the name! Our purpose is to provide delicious desserts made with the most natural ingredients possible without having to compromise taste or appearance. Our products are free of preservatives and we try our best to source locally wherever possible. Whether Gluten-Free or Gluten-Full - we promise there's a whole lot of love in every bite.
"I began baking as a hobby about fifteen years ago, creating and filling orders from my home kitchen...today, I am a professional Pastry Chef and 2014 graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island and hold a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Baking & Pastry Arts. My love for dessert comes with my love and appreciation for simple ingredients. I believe that food should be gorgeous to look at and rich in flavour; balancing salty and sweet so the two work in harmony...I started off as an applied science major, pursuing a degree in structural engineering -but my passion for baking led me down the path to make it a lifelong career; one I could make my own...from SCRATCH."
